V. Raman Kumar is the founder, former Chairman/CEO and Board Director of MModal Inc ( NASDAQ: MODL) – a leading voice recognition, clinical documentation technology & services company. He founded CBay Systems, subsequently renamed as MModal, in 1998 and took the company from a start-up to become the world’s largest provider of clinical documentation technology solutions to the US healthcare industry. MModal was sold to One Equity Partners ( JP Morgan’s private equity arm) in 2012 for USD 1.1 billion.
Kumar has won several awards and recognitions for his outstanding contribution to entrepreneurship and business leadership. He was named Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 award winner for Maryland. He was also honoured with the prestigious Maryland International Business Leadership Award by The World Trade Centre Institute in Baltimore in the same year.
Kumar did his B.A (Hons.) and M.A from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He attended the School of Organization and Management at Yale University. He has over 30 years of experience in managing public and private companies; starting his career in the Indian Revenue Service and then shifting to the private sector.
Kumar is a limited partner in three large international private equity funds. He is also an active private investor investing across sectors, in India, US and the Middle East. He is currently the chairman and managing director of Aeries group of companies.
Mabkhoot Al Menhali holds a degree in Accounting Management since 1992 and he is a Certified Public Accountant ( CPA) and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He started his public accounting in Abu Dhabi in 1999 and joined M & M Al Menhali Auditing in 2007. He has around 20 years of experience in Finance & Accounting domain in the Oil & Gas industry and he is currently the CFO of National Petroleum Construction Company, NPCC in Abu Dhabi.
Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in Chartered Accountancy practice as well as in Industry. He was a senior partner with one of the oldest Audit firms in India till November 2007. During this tenure apart from the traditional practice of statutory and internal audits he specialized in M&A advisory, efficient business arrangements including corporate structuring, transaction structuring including cross border arrangements, setting up of entities in India for foreign corporates, setting up a SOX and USGAAP practice, Due diligences, Indian IPO and AIM listing, inspections and special purpose investigations for corporates and Authorities. He was the CFO and the Global Controller of a multinational Healthcare group listed on the NASDAQ from November 2007 till March 31, 2011. During this stint in industry he was responsible for setting up a Group financial reporting system which met external and internal reporting requirements, accounting and finance back office catering to multiple international locations , relisting and IPO, organized restructuring, Fx and treasury management system, budgeting, planning and forecasting by an offshore team, ramp up support for offshore production capacity enhancements, efficient legal, secretarial and compliance set-up offshore for the Group etc. He is also currently, in India, CEO of a technology & ICPO company and Managing Partner of a business support services firm specializing in CFO, accounting, legal, secretarial, diligence, PE investment support services.
Vinayak is a commerce graduate and a Chartered Accountant with a keen interest in accounting (US Gaap, IFRS and Indian Accounting Standards), treasury operations
and taxation. With experience of 18 years in Audit, Newspaper, Entertainment and Health Care industry, he has handled assignments related to restructuring, process of bidding, setting up of new centres at different locations, planning, process documentation and performance of due diligence related to Merger and Acquisitions and fund raising through debts.
